Katê celebration or Cham New Year, one of Brahmin Cham’s people major events, occurs during the seventh month of the Cam Ahier calendar, usually in October. The largest Katê ceremonies are held at Po Klong Garai Towers, Ninh Thuan Province. Cham delegations from eight provinces join the celebration. A Cham Balamon master leads various rituals. The aim is to honor last Cham Kings and their forgotten kingdoms but also an expression of wishes for fertility, prosperity and a fruitful harvest
